Spent

For my installation at the Toronto School of Art Gallery, I built on the work Spent Balloons that happened during my tenure in the Independent Studio Program. I continued my interest in using a gallery as an incubator space, “studio of the moment”. I used the found holes made in the wall, ceiling and floor surfaces. These determined the positions of the spent balloons. This work relies on the history of the gallery space that lends to my work randomness embraced in my installations. In a sense then conferring a collaborative aspect to the work. Concurrently I used the locker, Gallery 54 to “store” the cast-off balloons.
