Foiled

In 2008, for my exhibition, Façade, at Modern Fuel Gallery, Kingston, Ontario, I manipulated several discarded foil seals of cylindrical containers of tea bags to produce a various shapes. Experimenting with the shapes and using a small LED light I was able to make and photograph a shadow that mimicking the upper façade of the Modern Fuel Gallery.

Since 2008 I have continued to use various of foil seals in combination with the LED light. As part of my exhibition, windsock, cubism and Kingston, at the Union Gallery, Kingston in 2010, I referred to the windsock of the R.C. Harris Filtration plant in Toronto and to the façade of one of the Martello Towers on the Kingston, Ontario waterfront.

Foiled Flame is a series of photographs investigating the blue light formed by the LED light and some of the foiled shapes leftover from the previous projects.
